Would you like to know a little bit more about WYB's competitive gymnastics team?
WYB Gymnastics is excited to be continuing our girl's recreational team. The WYB Rec Team is for those girls who are interested in taking their gymnastics to the competitive level, but not quite as involved, costly or as time consuming as an USAG competitive club team.
We are part of the Greater Columbus Gymnastics Conference and compete in compulsory levels 1, 2 and 3 (ages 9 and under), as well as, Xcel levels bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond (ages 10 and up). The competitive season runs from October through May with most meets being held within the Greater Columbus area. Each gymnast can compete in whatever meets that are convenient for their family.
We start our team practices in the summer with the possibility of adding new team members in the fall. There will be minimum skill requirements to be on the competitive team. Skill evaluation days / team tryouts are held in May for those interested in being on our team. Team practices start in June.
Team members will practice for 1-9 hours per week depending on level. There is also an option for additional time by enrolling in the backhandspring and tumbling classes being offered to help gymnasts advance. We will focus not only on skills, but strength and flexibility, good form, and routines in all four events; vault, beam, uneven bars and floor exercise. Team members will pay monthly tuition based on the number of hours the gymnast practices each week.
Approximate Costs (tentative and subject to change prior to start of season)
Tuition: Begins at $95 for level 2 up through - $275 / month to Platinum & Diamond level (depending on hours in gym)
Yearly team registration fee: $45
